Attorney Jarod Gilbert is a seasoned trial attorney for Steinger, Greene & Feiner. He has over ten years of insurance defense practice, which has given him a thorough understanding of how insurance companies evaluate and defend cases. Today, Jarod is most proud to bring justice to accident victims injured due to someone else’s negligence.
Born and raised in Tampa Bay, Florida, Jarod attended college at the University of South Florida, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and found his passion for law and advocacy. While studying criminology in college, Jarod worked at Publix Supermarkets and Lucky Brand at International Mall, where he learned the importance of hard work and quality customer service. In 2007, Jarod obtained his Juris Doctorate law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law, where he attended as a Governor’s Scholarship recipient. During his time in law school, Jarod received the Book Award for the highest grade in Lawyering Process, specializing in Advocacy, Legal Writing and Research.
After law school, Jarod began his practice as an Assistant State Attorney for the Fifth Judicial Circuit, where he successfully prosecuted thousands of criminal cases ranging from second-degree misdemeanors to first-degree felonies. Jarod participated in over fifty jury trials and conducted over thirty jury trials as lead counsel. During this time, Jarod earned the opportunity to work in the Public Interest Unit, where he specialized in handling cases involving organized fraud, exploitation of the elderly, unlicensed contracting, sales tax theft, and other white-collar crimes. Jarod was successful in achieving justice for hundreds of people who were victimized by complex theft schemes.
In 2013, Jarod enhanced his litigation, advocacy, and research skills by working at a boutique law firm specializing in defense of personal injury protection claims and fraud investigations. Jarod worked closely with other lawyers, team managers, and special investigators to investigate and defend questionable claims brought by medical providers and insureds alike. This experience provided Jarod with a deep understanding of Florida’s “No-Fault” laws related to automobile accidents.
Most recently, Jarod was employed by a major insurance company as staff counsel, where Jarod represented the carrier and its insureds in all lines of coverage, including bodily injury, uninsured motorist, personal injury protection, and property damage. Jarod litigated thousands of cases throughout Florida and had the opportunity to train and mentor rising stars in the practice of law. Jarod worked very closely with insurance adjusters and their managers to meet the goals and objectives of the company. This “in-house” experience, coupled with over ten years of insurance defense practice, provided Jarod with a thorough understanding of how insurance companies and their adjusters evaluate and defend cases.
Now, Jarod is very proud, honored, and humbled to represent those that have been injured in an accident. Jarod looks forward to bringing a high level of customer service and compassion to his clients in obtaining a favorable and just outcome in every injury case he prosecutes.
When Jarod is not advocating on behalf of clients, he enjoys attending Tampa Bay Buccaneer football games, exercising, and spending time with his wonderful family and friends.
