In the early morning hours of October 4, 2018, Mr. Joseph Price was on his way home from work and was rear-ended on the Florida Turnpike by a wrecker truck. His car was declared a total loss.
What’s worse, however, were Mr. Prince’s injuries. Before the crash, he was a professional driver working up to 60 hours per week, including the loading and unloading of the tractor trailers that he drove. He was regularly able to repeatedly bend, twist, climb and lift up to 50 pounds. Despite undergoing both neck and back surgeries after the wreck, he remains unable to work in any capacity.
Mr. Prince called the Port St. Lucie car accident lawyers at Steinger, Greene & Feiner, who immediately took on the case. Founding partner Sean Greene and partner Alfred Bell represented Mr. Prince, and decided to not accept any settlement for the wreck, and instead took the case to trial.
The Verdict on Behalf of Mr. Prince
After arguments were presented in the Circuit Court of the 19th Judicial Circuit in and for St. Lucie County, Florida. On December 18th, 2018, the jury awarded damages to Mr. Prince in the amount of $8,197,303.49.
These damages were awarded for pain and suffering, disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience, aggravation of a physical defect and loss of his capacity to enjoy his life sustain in the past and to be sustained in the future.
Why This Case Is So Important to Us
At Steinger, Greene & Feiner, our mission is to serve and protect the rights of individuals who have been injured due to the negligence of others, and bring justice to real people in the Port St. Lucie community. We believe this case fully embodies that mission.
We know that many other law firms would have negotiated with the insurance companies representing each party to reach a settlement. Settlements are generally quicker, and allow attorneys to move on to other cases.
However, in this specific case, we knew we couldn’t just accept the unfair settlement that was offered to Mr. Prince. So, we instead took the case to trial so we could get him the most compensation possible.
We’re proud to have helped Mr. Prince find justice for his injuries, and our Port St. Lucie car accident attorneys are proud to help all who are injured in South Florida get the compensation they deserve.
